Mixture ratio measuring instrument for liq. and gaseous media of combustion engine by density comparison has communicating tube system. Small quantities of the liquid and gas mixture are continuously supplied to a tube of a system of communicating tubes. The tube is connected to a return line by means of an overflow. The unmixed liquid is located in a second tube of the system. Pressure compensation is provided between the two tubes. The height difference of the columns of liquid in both tubes represent a measure for the gas component in the liquid. The tubes are formed by cylinders.
