Rolling mill stand drawout slide - with two crosspieces for alternate coupling to piston crossheads

Rolling mill stand is equipped with a draw-out slide which can be extracted sideways on a track to change the rolls. The free end of the extraction power cylinder piston rod is fitted with a crosshead. The latter incorporates a coupling which can be connected to the crosspieces of the draw-out slide in turn. This enables the inexpensive power cylinder method to be retained even when the desired length of drawout motion exceeds the max. possible stroke of the cylinder. Work rolls can be exchanged by coupling the crosshead to the near side crosspiece, and back-up rolls by coupling it to the offside crosspiece.
