1478779 Reactive pigment for use in pressure-sensitive record materials YARA ENG CORP 12 Dec 1975 [13 June 1975] 51022/75 Heading D2B [Also in Division C4] A reactive pigment suitable for use in a pressure-sensitive record material, which comprises (a) kaolinite, (b) bentonite (i.e. the unrefined rock from which montmorillonite, a swelling clay, is fractionated) or montmorillonite, (c) a salt of a polyvalent metal, and (d) a liquid capable of coupling with the salt, may be prepared by dispersing (a) and (b) in an aqueous medium, adding (c) to the resultant dispersion and dispersing it therein, adding (d) to the resulting dispersion and dispersing it therein, separating the solids, and drying and pulverizing the solids. The kaolinite may be a calcined kaolinite. The preferred ligand is 1, 6-hexanediamine and the preferred salt is CuCl 2 . Sheets are coated with a composition comprising water, sodium hexametaphosphate, the pigment and a latex. |
