<p>New medicinal prepns. contain at least (A) an N4-acylcytosine arabinoside; (B) >=1 additive selected from (a) polyethoxylated esters of hydroxy-fatty acids and glycerine, (b) polyethoxyethylated esters of fatty acids, (c) polyethoxylated lanolin and (d) bile acids; and, opt. (C) >=1 adjuvant selected from saccharides, aliphatic polyols, inorganic chlorides, inorganic bromides, inorganic sulphates, and aromatic carboxylic acids and their salts. Cytosine arabinoside is useful as an anticancer agent. N4-Acyl derivs. of cytosine arabinoside have an improved duration of action against peritoneal disorders when administered intraperitoneally. The new prepns. have improved water-solubility, giving an improvement in their biological utilisation.</p> |
