<p>The support is for the lower end of legs of a drilling or prodn. platform for anchoring purposes to sea bottom. This combined support and anchoring device is of simple design and it is readily handled. The support is robust and it assists in immersing multi leg platforms. Buoyancy forces are balanced by weight. Flat support arrangement has upwards pointing conical shape whose height is small in relation to base diameter. Such a cone has double walls which enclose hollow cells between them, which can be flooded. The centre of cone tip is stiffened for connecting to a leg. The tip of cone is raised for holding ballast ensuring anchoring.</p> |
