The massage chair has a fixed seat (18) and a movable back formed by one or more horizontal massage rollers (24a, 24b). Under the effect of a person sitting down, the rollers are moved from the rest position against spring action (42), so as to massage the back. The rollers can be mounted on a frame (28, 32, 34) pivoting on the seat on a horizontal axis, and on the opposite side of the back to the seat. The rollers may rotate on a spindle sliding in a frame itself pivoting on a horizontal axis near the rear edge of the seat. There can be other movable rollers below the seat, to massage the calves of the occupant's legs.
