<p>1430410 Purifying water ECOLOTROL Inc 19 June 1973 [19 June 1972] 29012/73 Heading C1C Waste water is denitrified by generating a fluidized bed by passing waste water through a bed of solid particulate material of specific gravity of at least 1À1 having denitrifying micro-organisms on its surface, the water in the bed containing a sufficient amount of a carbon source to allow oxidized nitrogen wastes to be converted to nitrogen by the micro-organisms, the bed being maintained at a temperature sufficient to permit bacterial activity, removing denitrified water from the bed and mechanically removing excess bacterial growth from the particulate carrier at predetermined intervals.</p> |
