<p>The roof support unit is for longwall faces in inclined seams arranged side by side in a row along the face. The units are advanced by a cylinder. Apart from the bases of the supports guiding each other, guides are also provided between the caving shields and the roof caps of adjoining roof support units. The guide equipment consists of pivoting arms pivotably attached to adjoining shield support units. The arms pivot in the advancing direction of the support units and in vertical plane and are pivotably joined by an intermediate part. At least one pivoting arm is positioned parallel with the roof cap or the base of the support unit and has a telescopic extension part connected to a similar pivoting arm of the adjoining shield support unit.</p> |
