A device for transferring fowl carcases from one conveyor to another, is particularly adapted to conveyor chains moving at different speeds, equipped with known carcase hooks, from each of which a bird can be hung by clamping one of its legs. It comprises an endless running chain with, parallel to its surface moving from a feeder to a take off conveyor, a guide rail cranked at its ends. The guide rail end projecting above the feeder forms a carcase leg ejector, whilst the end approaching the hooks of the take off conveyor has a pressure cylinder and piston working intermittently. The pressure cylinder is controlled by a sensing device which detects the position of the hook of the take off conveyor and energises the stroke for pushing the carcase leg transferred into the clamp. Arrangement automates a previously labour intensive operation, transferring carcases at a speed of ca 120 per min.
|
