A shock absorbing spring (2) for a watch bearing, is basically ring shaped, to fit into the circular recess in the bearing carrier ring (1). It has arms (8) extending inwards for locating purposes with extensions (9) sloping downwards at the outer periphery which fit into a groove (6) around the inside of the carrier ring. These form a camming device, each extension contacting the face of the groove so that after the ring has been inserted, it is rotated until a required preloading is applied to the spring (2). The top surface of the bearing ring has cut-outs (6, 7) so that the spring can be inserted correctly in the middle, after which it is turned.
|
