Carton box manufacturing unit for the packaging of consumer goods such as e.g. cigarettes, has a cut off on the outer side of the side walls to accommodate the edge of the cover and the side walls and cover. These are covered with a thin foil used as the cover hinge on one side of the pack. The unit has at least one stamp to form the pack by folding over of the side walls and with a matrix the base and side profiles of which are movable and may be actuated synchronised with the stamp movements. The stamp operates through an eccenter shaft (7).
