<p>The sun-screening roof for a verandah, terrace, loggia or similar outdoor site, consists of a bar frame with a sheet of textile material or plastics stretched over it. It is attached to the site floor by swivelling bearings, permitting it to swing about the axis of a tubular rod, and has one or more side supports to fix it in various settings. The frame is assembled from shaped tubes, welded together (9, 10, 11). The sheet of screening material (19) is attached to the tubes in a stretched condition, by self-retaining clamps (16, 16'). The shaped tube serving as a bearing rod (9) may be of greater diameter than the other tubes. Two or more of the pairel parallel outside shanks of the frame may incorporate slots for insertion of the looped sheet end, embracing a wedge in the form of an elastic tube. The frame is torsionally rigid, and permits easy screen attachment, at the desired degree of tension.</p> |
