A tinted plastics film is reeled up at the top edge of the windscreen and is pulled down to cover all, or part of, the windscreen to eliminate dazzle. The density of tinting is greatest at the bottom edge of the film to reduce reflected light from wet roads, and can be partially pulled down to sit in front of the driver's eyes for low sunlight. The edges of the film are braced by wire inserts and the film is secured by suction pads or any other fittings. The film can serve as an emergency windscreen if the screen is broken and can also be formed by an inflatable plastic body which is self erecting. The tinting can be replaced by liq. crystal areas in front of the driver.
