<p>1481942 Injection blow moulding RAINVILLE CO Inc 2 Feb 1976 03928/76 Heading B5A A container 45 with openings at both ends is injection blow moulded on a core rod 22 which extends the full length of the injection mould 24 and the blow mould 26. The core rod is gripped at both ends by the moulds and has a movable portion which exposes an outlet for blowing fluid. Grooves 52 and 54 on the core rod prevent the parison shrinking due to cooling in transit from mould to mould, and thereby effect a stretching action so that the walls of the parison become thinner on cooling. Three core rods are mounted on a rotary turret 20 (Fig. 1, not shown) and are indexed in 120 degree step through injection, blow, and stripping stations. The necks of the container may have external screw threads.</p> |
