A rotary magnet (1) is mounted on a shaft (2). The switching armature (3) carries magnets (4, 5) and contacts (7, 8). Opposite these magnets are mounted steel screws or miniature magnets for magnetic holding of the armature. The rotary magnet carries preferably an axially polarised magnet strengthening the magnetic field lines in the direction of an actuating magnet (15). The rotary magnet is typically reset into its starting position by yet another magnet (17). The armature magnets may be provided with a non-ferromagnetic film, in order to prevent contact with the rotary magnet. The armature may have a contact spring.
