<p>1482872 Valves GUSTAV F GERDTS KG 7 April 1975 [28 May 1974] 14124/75 Heading F2V The loading springs 9, 10 of a pivoted flap check valve comprise two arms 12, 13 joined by at least one turn 11 arranged essentially parallel to the back face 8 of the flap 4. The springs are so prestressed that a reduction in the distance between the outer ends of the arms will reduce the force acting along a line joining the ends of the spring. As the flap opens this distance is reduced resulting in a reduction of the loading force as the valve opens. The loading is further reduced as the valve opens as the leverage of the spring force is also reduced as a consequence of the relative positions of the pivot and the spring anchor points.</p> |
