Locking plate held on door frame - has snap fitting to prevent locking of inadvertently closed door

The locking plate of angle profiles is fastened on a door frame. The plate has an opening on the frame inner side for accommodating the catch of a lock on a door. The lock can be e.g. a mortice lock. A snap element is fitted into the path of the catch. This locking plate ensures that the door which is inadvertently locked by itself can be directly opened from outside without key. The snap element (31) can be rotated from its rest position parallel to the frame outside face into the frame opening (23) connected with the locking plate openings (19). This snap element can be automatically returned into its rest position in which it rests preferably on the locking plate. The snap element (31) is a plate made from sheet metal.
