The inner surface of the CRT is coated with a conductive, graphite-contg. lining which is formed by a mixture of graphite with chromium oxide and/or silicon carbide. Graphite content is pref. twice the weight of the chromium oxide and/or silicon carbide. Potassium silicate is pref. used in the lining as binder. The lining is typically 15-25 mu thick. Between the two points, spaced by 25mm the lining may have an electric resistance value of 0.5-1 Kohms. The particle size in the lining is typically 5 mu. Compsn. is applied as aq. suspension to the tube glass wall by brushing or spraying.
