The machine produces blister packages from a sheet of cardboard folded and sealed together, a blister cowl with the contents being inserted between the halves before folding so as to protrude through an opening. It has a number of indexing pallets for the items, an insertion station with magazines for the cardboard sheets, and filling, sealing and discharge stations. A transfer mechanism for the sheets fromt he magazine to the pallets functions in conjunction with the edge of the pallet mounting so as simultaneously to fold the sheets through roughly 90 deg. A further folding mechanism (21) then folds them to an angle of 1 0-150 deg.
