Incidence direction determination system - is for electromagnetic waves and uses different signal delays

An arrangement is for determination of the direction of incidence of an electromagnetic wave. It uses a group of single aerials arranged on a closed elliptical or circular curve with each output connected to a common receiver via a conductor. It is designed to ensure as little as possible effect on the measurement of phase lags in the conductors and receiver. Each conductor contains a switch with a controller causing short conducting periods synchronised to produce a series of signals at the receiver so that each antenna output is sampled after two different delay times in opposite senses around the group of aerials.
