1492315 Liquid injector BAXTER TRAVENOL LABORATORIES Inc 6 Aug 1975 [14 Aug 1974] 32822/75 Heading G1B [Also in Division B1] A device for introducing liquid into an openmouthed elongated receptacle comprises an elongated tubular member adapted and constructed to have attached thereto at the proximal end a liquid carrying conduit, said tubular member terminating at the distal end with an outwardly extending annular flange for seating on the mouth of said receptacle, said tubular member being obliquely inclined with respect to said flange, said flange having at the other side thereof a projection for receipt in the mouth of the receptacle, and having an axis normal to the flange, said projection having a bore therethrough communicating internally with the tubular member and in axial alignment therewith, for liquid impingement in use on the upper part of the inner side-wall of said receptacle. As shown, a loosely fitting nozzle 20 is inserted into the mouth of a cuvette or test-tube 19. A flange 16 supported on ribs 17 locates the nozzle so that liquid issuing from the bore 21 is directed against the inside wall of the cuvette, insuring that the force of the liquid is not directed against any solids in the bottom of the cuvette. A handle 11 is connected by a flexible tube 13 to a source of washing liquid. |
