Vacuum-proof sealing of pieces of thermoplastics tubes - using a heater and a mobile, two-part sealing punch

Device for welding or sealing, vacuum-proof pieces of thermoplastics tube comprises a heating element acting upon the tube and a two-part sealing punch which is lowered onto the tube. The punch consists of upper and lower portions and has lateral faces extending parallel to the length of the tube. The punch has, pref., conical recesses at its ends adapted to shape a transitional zone from cross-section of the tube on the resulting "pinched-off" welding seam. Enables the ends of a tube which is dimensionally stable under super-pressure from outside, to seal air-tight so that the sealing seams do not protrude beyond the dia. of the initial piece of tube.
