The position of a plane passive reflector for microwave communications transmission is adjusted using optical sights on compass arms. This method is used where two antennas required alignment but where direct visibility is not possible. An alignment compass is attached by a wing nut (10) to an arm clamped to a reflector. The alignment compass arms (3, 4) are opened to the calculated angle of separation of antennas from the reflector w.r.t. a central axis (ZZ) and as read on a graduated scale (42). The visible antenna is align with the reflector, using a rear (120) and front (30, 40) sight on the respective arm of the alignment compass.
|
