The centre spool includes a longitudinal slot (2) in its circumferential surface for attaching a starting end of a band material wound on the spool. The spool wall (1) section has in its surface a U-shaped recess (4) which projects into the hollow space of the spool and forms the slot (2). The spool has a link (4) which is formed to transmit rotating movement from a driving shaft on the spool. The rotation movement transmitting link (4) is formed by the recess (4) in the spool wall (1). The driving shaft has a tubular shape and has a longitudinal slot in which is projecting the recess (4) of the spool. The recess (4) projects across the inner hollow space of the spool near to its opposite wall.
