1530073 Electronic watches HASLER AG 21 April 1977 [22 April 1976] 16623/77 Heading G3T [Also in Division H1] A module for an electronic watch is formed of two substrates 1, 10 fixed face to face and having circuit component(s) and printed circuitry on their adjacent faces only, the necessary connections between the two sets of circuitry being thus made without the need for connectors passing through a substrate, and the substrate 1 having at least one opening 8 substantially covered by the substrate 10 and containing a circuit component 5. As shown the latter is an LED display sealed by clear resin 12 which also has a magnifying effect. It may, however, be a frequency divider 6, display driver 7, or quartz oscillator 3. The module shown also includes a battery 4. An alternative embodiment uses a liquid crystal display (14), Fig. 3 (not shown), and a drive to a stepping motor and hands is also envisaged. Other components are sealed by opaque resin 13 and the substrates are fixed together by solder or conducting glue. |
