Undissolved hydrocarbon sepn. from water - by passing through container with hard fibre barrier between first trap and stilling zone

Equipment for the sepn. and retention of undissolved hydrocarbons (I) from water has a container in which the mixt. of water and (I) is passed from one side via a first trap into a stilling zone, from which the water flows under an immersed wall on the opposite side. This container has a barrier of hard fibrous material (II) across the flow between the inlet and outlet, which slows the flow and makes it unidirectional and stills the mixt., so that sepn. of (I) from the water takes place in both the trap and the stilling zone and also inside the barrier. (II) consists of mineral wool, contg. SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, CaO, MgO and TiO2. Complete sepn. of the light components from the water is achieved within the container.
