The roller bearings for the spinning rotors of open-end spinning units ride in a race formed by an outer and an inner ring. An intermediate ring is placed between the rollers on the inner ring or axis and the rollers on the outer ring. This acts as the inner race path for the outer rollers and as the outer race path for the inner rollers. An auxiliary drive gives the intermediate ring the same rotary direction as the other rotating components, the outer ring or the inner ring/axis. The design gives a differential roller bearing where the total rotary speed is divided into stages so that no section of the roller bearing assembly carries the full load.
