Welding device has means for continuous feed-in of the solid material at its unheated upstream end, and continuous discharge of softened material at the heated downstream end of a tube mounted inside a casing in which is a passage which is in extension of the mouth of the tube. A section of the passage is formed by a driven conveying element which rotates about the axis of the passage. The conveying element has an inner screw thread for the take-up of a rod-shaped welding material with outer screw thread. The device can be operated whilst held in any convenient position. Temp. is reliably and easily controlled. Suitable for welding relatively difficultly processable materials including PVC. |
