Spreader for core layer of chip fleece - with coarse chip spreader roller beneath reciprocating screen

Spreader for the core layer of a chip fleece to be pressed to form chipboard comprises a spreader chamber, with a spreading point located above an endless moving carrier which passes fine and coarse chips via a dispensing point of a hopper. Beneath this dispensing point is an inclined, basically horizontally reciprocating screen beneath and parallel to the lower edge of which is a spreader roller for supplying coarser chips to the space beneath the screen. Spaced beneath the screen, at a distance from the spreader roller, is a vertical transverse surface with a width equal to the length of the spreader roller. The distance between transverse surface and screen allow deposition of larger thinner particles perpendicularly to the spreading direction.
