<p>The jet is fitted on halogen fire extinguishers to produce a jet of halogen ambient air. The jet is fitted to the handle and trigger operated assembly with a dip pipe and is screwed into the cylinder containing the halogen. The jet (12) consists of an elongated cylindrical external part (24) with internal part (26) concentrically fitted into it. The external part is provided on its one end with a thread to be screwed in on the housing of the operating fitting. The orifice end (36) of the external part has a size which, after some distance towards the rear end enlarges and is provided with a tapping into which the internal part (26) is screwed in. The internal part (26) is cylindrical of equal diameter up to the point, where on o.d. increase occurs to accommodate the thread by which the internal part is fitted. The o.d. of the internal part is slightly smaller than the i.d. of the external part, so that between the two a ring gap (48) results which connects to a number of radial bores (40) on the external part. The bores serve for ambient air admittance to create the halogen air jet.</p> |
