The valve rotating mechanism is used especially in internal combustion engines. The valve stem is rotated by rolling balls acting under force on the track on the stem base. Rotating movements are stabilised and their braking movements are kept low. The tracks (8, 4) in the stem base (3) ensures free movement of balls. These tracks deviate from the circular paths around the valve longitudinal axis and they are sloping radially inwards. The stabilised running of balls reduces wear. The force transmitted by the disc springs over the balls on the track is at an angle to stem axis.
