1364383 Benzthiazolyl ureas BAYER AG 18 Aug 1972 [19 Aug 1971 16 Sept 1971] 38656/72 Heading C2C Novel 1 - (2 - benzthiazolyl) - 1,3 - dialkyl ureas of the Formula I wherein R 1 is a C 2 -C 5 alkyl group, R 2 is a hydrogen atom or a C 1 -C 3 alkyl group and R 3 is a C 1 -C 3 alkyl group; are obtained by reacting 2 - (C 2 -C 5 alkylamino) benzthiazoles with either (a) C 1 -C 3 alkyl isocyanates of the formula R 3 -N=C=O (when R 2 is to be a hydrogen atom), or (b) phosgene and C 1 -C 3 alkylamines or di-(C 1 -C 3 alkyl)-amines of the formula R 2 -NH-R 3 , in the presence of acidbinding agents. A herbicidal composition contains a benzthiazolylurea of the Formula I in admixture with a solid or liquefied gaseous diluent or carrier or in admixture with a liquid diluent or carrier containing a surface-active agent. |
