<p>1498428 Pressure-sensitive recording sheet sets MOORE BUSINESS FORMS Inc 23 April 1975 [3 May 1974] 16841/75 Heading B6A [Also in Division B2] A pressure-sensitive recording sheet set 10 comprises a top sheet 12 having a back coating 14, a bottom sheet 16 having a front coating 18, and at least the intermediate sheet 20 having a front coating 26 and a back coating 28; each coating including a colour forming reactant, the reactant in each of the back coatings being capable of reacting with the reactant in the front coating in contact therewith on application of pressure to produce a coloured mark, the reactant in the back coating of each intermediate sheet not being capable of reacting with the reactant in the front coating of the same sheet to produce a coloured mark. The reactant in the front coating 18 of the bottom sheet may be capable of reacting with the reactant in the back coating of any of the other sheets to produce a coloured mark on application of pressure. In a typical example, coating 14 on top sheet 12 may comprise microcapsules containing crystal violet lactone. Coating 26 on sheet 20 may comprise a phenolic resin and coating 28 may comprise microcapsules containing a dithiooxamide. Coating 30 on sheet 22 may comprise nickel rosinate and coating 32 may be identical to coating 14. Sheet 24 may be identical to sheet 20. Coating 1.8 on sheet 16 may comprise a mixture of phenolic resin and nickel rosinate. Many other examples of colour-forming systems which may be used are given.</p> |
