The insole comprises an intermediate layer of a cellular fleece material inserted between a base layer made of a suitable welt material e.g. leather, cork and a textile upper layer made of a knitted or woven substance which is comfortable and airy for the feet. The intermediate fleece layer is pref. made of pulverised dried grass which being a natural prod. is partic. compatible with the feet. It is a readily available economical prod. and can be mixed with other herbs such as peppermint, lavender-to provide extra foot freshness. The fibres of the intermediate layer can be mixed with an adhesive binding agent.
