The connector is formed by a tubular metallic body (1). Inside the body (1) are arranged coaxial circuit connection elements. These permit the connection through to either side of the barrier (2). The element (3) is fixed relative to the interior of the body (1) by a capsule (4). The capsule (4) is formed from liquid glass which produces a metal glass seal around the element (3) and the inner surface of the body (1). The exterior faces of the glass capsule (4) are essentially plane. An elastomer joint (13, 14) is placed directly against each of the faces so as to contain the tin layer of air.
