<p>The unreinforced full disc brake is particularly for motor vehicles, having a rotary brake housing and two brake discs carrying the linings, sliding axially, but unable to turn, on a stationary mounting, also an expander separate from the discs. The expander comprises two pref. similar actuating rings bearing against each other by ramp faces and rolling components. Only one is rotated to give expanding action, and acts via rollers against a non-rotating thrust ring bearing against the brake disc on one side. The second actuating ring cannot rotate on the mounting and acts directly on the other disc.</p> |
