<p>In a support grid the lower bars are triangular, apex upwards, with the height greater than the base, whilst the upper bars, having the same or lesser cross-section as the lower, are diamond- or lens-shaped, again the height being greater than the breadth. Used as supports for filter media, in either rectangular or circular form, partic. where high differential pressures occur across the filter. As compared with support grids having circular profiles for their bars, there is relatively low loss of filter surface by obstruction with the supports, and minimal blinding of the grid apertures by the filter cloth or filter solids.</p> |
