<p>The system of harvesting plants growing under water uses a boat with a cutter (6) supported from it, suspended at a suitable height under the water to cut the plants. The support system consists of a telescopic arm (5) each side of the boat, which slides inside a tube (3) attached to a support on the deck of the boat. The cutter which is secured between the arms operates in the manner of a chain saw, and is driven from a device on the deck, with a drive spindle extending downwards alongside one arm the sleeves (3) guiding the arms are mounted on hinges so that the cutter can be swung up clear of the water when not inuse. The arms can be pulled by a cable (10) travelling around a winch (11) at the bows (13) of the boat.</p> |
