The device is for drying granular materials, such as salts, minerals, plastics and foodstuffs. It has a circular chamber (1) with a tangential supply tube (2) for hot air, and parallel to it and above it, another tube (5) with a delivery screw for the material. Between the sides (13, 13a) is a curved wall (6) with a channel through it with its lower end aligned with the tangential pipe. Its other end tapers to form a discharge nozzle immediately above the entry hole (4) from the feed screw. At the junction of the channel and the tangential tube (2) is a curved line of tilting blades (8, 9) to control the flow of hot air. The rotating material is discharged sideways through a hole (11) through each side, which is hollow. It is also conveyed to vertical outlets (12), and to bottom outlets (13) fitted with valves (14).
