<p>The radiation heating is suspended or set up on a linkage for protecting growing vines or fruit against frost damage, the radiation being provided by the combustion of oil or gas. The radiator has its radiation surfaces pointing to the plants to be protected. It is heated so much that with increasing temperature, the specific radiation of the radiator rises so far until the radiator transmits electromagnetic waves whose radiation maximum lies in the infra-red spectrum. A radiation-receiving "white" reflector reflects the radiation onto the radiator, raises its temperature and its specific radiation and thus simultaneously increases its radiation output.</p> |
