Salts of iodine-contg. acids with amino acid amide(s) - used in X=ray diagnoses

Salts of shadow-forming iodine-contg. acids with amino acid amides are new. A typical cpd. is the glycinamide salt of N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2,4,6-triiodo-5-methoxyacetamido-isophthalanic acid. The salts can be used in X-ray diagnoses. The salts are highly soluble and solns. are heat stable. Solns. of the salt are very acceptable physiologically, the harmful effect on the erythrocytes is reduced cf. solns. of Na- and Meglumine salts, as are the viscosity and osmotic press. The overall toxicity of the salts is no greater than that of Na- and Meglumine. Conc. solns. (concns. of 10 to at least 90%) can be prepd.
