Motion picture viewer has integrated frame counting mechanism comprising analogue counting dial continuously driven by motion of film. The reading is within sight of the person viewing the picture frame. The counting dial (20.1) of the frame counting mechanism (20) comprises a graduated scale (20.2) made from transparent or translucent material. The motion picture viewer (1) comprises illuminations optics (10, 18) the beams bundle (8) of which transmits light through the graduated scale (20.2). It is projected on the screen (16) of the motion picture viewer (1) by means of projection optics (24). The projection lamp (10) is used as light source for producing the beam bundle (B) for the graduated scale (20.2).
