A code transmitter with a current supply is placed at a specified points. They send code signals marking their position, and vehicles have receivers for the code signals and radio transmitters for transmission of position signals to a central station. Code transmitters are mounted on lamp posts of the street lighting system (2) and the current supply consists of a battery rechargeable through suitable equipment from the lamp supply system.
