<p>Electro-optical display operates with reflection and has cell consisting of two glass plates with liq. crystal between. The liq. crystal is charged with aligned two-colour molecules which are in a position to change the alignment if an electric field is applied. A mirror is positioned behind the cell. The components of the polarization axis of the light parallel to the molecules are absorbed by the two-colour molecules. A thin plate (8) is inserted between the cell (1, 2) and the mirror (7). The neutral axes make an angle of 45 degrees with the direction of alignment of the liq. crystal molecules.</p> |
