1461670 Holography BBC BROWN BOVERI & CO Ltd 19 Dec 1974 [21 Dec 1973] 54913/74 Heading G2J A method of producing a hologram with an orthoscopic, at least partially real image of an object, comprises recording the object 3 on a first hologram 1, Fig. 1a (not shown), reconstructing the object 3(r) from hologram 1, Fig. 1b (not shown), and re-recording it on a second hologram 2, Fig. lc (not shown). To solve the problem of the final image 3(r)' disappearing suddenly when the observer's eye A move outside the angular range FF determined by the aperture of the first hologram 1, solid objects, (e.g. ground glass plates 4, 5 or holograms), are situated laterally of the wave field WI produced when the object 3 is reconstructed from the first hologram 1. The second hologram is taken so as to include the solid objects and the reconstructed object 3(r). The orthoscopic, at least partly real image 3(r)' is seen when a reconstructing beam Rek 2 illuminates the second hologram 2, Fig. ld (not shown), Fig. 2. |
