The fulling and washing machine for spread felting materials has a build-up channel behind the main powered squeeze rollers, the tapering channel being followed by a fulling unit and a conveyor in liquor pressure. The fulling unit is composed of a number of compression and advancing units operating alternately with a phase movement shift of 180 degrees. Each compression unit and advancing unit have a pair of vertically stacked horizontally opposed parallel crank drives with the fabric fed between their couplings. The machine can be used either for fulling or washing, giving an equal and consistent treatment to the fabric.
