The telephone system for railways has a circuit with partial sections connected by line transmitters. In addition it allows a connection to be made quickly between a voice terminal and a relevant remote terminal, or centre, when an accident occurs or the line is otherwise blocked. All outstations have switches controlled by the terminals. These switches suppress voice connections to the outstations being formed by the central station. The switches may also break the data transmission lines. These operations may be performed by additional contacts.
|
