The rapid fitting snow chain has separate inner and outer tensioning rings, with the part of the inner ring formed by curved rings, with the part of the inner ring formed by curved segments (1b). The chain is fitted by stretching at an angle over the tyre and fitting the inner loops together. It is then stretched over the outside of the wheel and gradually secured. The tyre does not have to be freed or lifted to fit the chain. Fitting involves a minimum of manual effort and minimum soiling of hands.
