The motor has a rotor and a stator lamination stack whose laminations are held together by metal strips in holes or slots at the lamination edges. It has an end plate at the lamination stack end, possibly designed as a cover, and holding a roor shaft bearing. The metal strips (18) have ends which project over the end surface of the lamination stack (12) at least on one side of the stack. They are used for centering and fastening of the end plate (13, 14) which is provided with corresponding holes.
