The join is for driving or conveyor belts of rubber or similar material, having wire rope inserts running in the lengthwise direction. The rope ends at the join are embedded in the layer of rubber and extend alternately for the entire length of overlap. Those ropes (7, 8) ending before the join are in line with each other. Each fifth or sixth rope in the two belt ends (1, 2) can end blind before the join, the ropes being grouped in sets of four or five to transmit the power. The design combines maximum power transmission with minimum join length.
